Mentally, its getting harder every day to prepare for this trip. I think I am ready to go. I am so excited, but when I think about leaving the people I love to go out alone for 8 months makes me (for lack of a better word) sad.
Either way, its coming, in exactly 21 days I will be en route to Buenos Aires!
I have a ton to do before I leave. I have my last day at the restaurant job next week, finish up work at FundQuest the week after, going home next weekend (yay!), pack, finish shopping, say good-bye to everyone, pack up the rest of my stuff that I don't need so I can get it out of Gary's way, finish my book, pick out a new book, end my gym membership, get a new cell phone, cancel my old phone, change my address on all my bills and W4s, buy stuff for my camera (which I am hoping holds up for my trip... f*ck you Tor), get my Visa for Vietnam back, make sure I have all my meds, and make sure I try the rest of the wine from Arik's October pack.
But, for those who don't know, and for those who do but want to see it in writing, here is the "official" itinerary:
Nov 20 - Boston to Argentina
Jan 2 - Buenos Aires to Cusco, Peru (Machu Pichu with Gary)
Overland travel through Peru, Ecuador and Colombia
March 11 - Barranquila, Colombia to Miami
Hanging out for 5 days with Gary then flying to see the family
March 23 - San Francisco to Hong Kong
March 31 - Hong Kong to Bangkok
Overland to southern Thailand
Apri 18 - Phuket, Thailand to Medan, Indonesia
Overland Indonesia to Bali
May 13 - Bali to Bangkok
Overland to Northern Thailand and into Laos (Gary will me meet in Laos hopefully)
June 15 - Vientiane, Laos to Hanoi, Vietnam
Overland to southern Vietnam, Cambodia and back into Thailand. Lots of buses here.
July 29 - Bangkok to Hong Kong (to do some shopping, maybe a suit to interview in when i get back, ugh)
July 31 - Hong Kong to San Francisco
Then either Boston, Austin or ????
And that's it. Before I know it will be over, so I am going to enjoy every single second and live it while I can! But until then, I want to spend as much time with everyone here to say my good-byes :(
